Pheromones and Gender: It’s More Complicated Than You Think
Last week we talked about a few common misconceptions about pheromones, but we left one out: that pheromones are gender specific, and that some pheromones only attract one gender. While it is true that there are pheromones that are generally used by one gender, almost all pheromones can be used in different formulas to attract both genders, depending on the person using them. You might be surprised to learn that often the biggest difference between women’s and men’s pheromone products are the added fragrances, not the pheromones themselves. Let’s look at a few examples.
This pheromone in only produced naturally by women and is mostly found in women’s products, so you would think that men wouldn’t have a use for it. This is not true, and in fact estratetaenol has been used very successfully by men for it’s calming “self-effects” and also to boost the effectiveness of androstadienone, another powerful pheromone that can be used by both genders.
2. Androstenone
Androstenone is used in many products for both genders (such as our own Alpha-7 Pheromones), but is often seen as a more masculine pheromone because of it’s sexually aggressive nature and it’s ability to impart “alpha” qualities on the user. As such, it is often more effective for men since they are more likely to want to be viewed as dominant and alpha. However, if you’re a more dominant woman and attracted to submissive men or other women, androstenone can be incredibly effective for you.
3. Copulins
Possibly the most gender-specific pheromone, copulins are only produced naturally by women and almost exclusively used in women’s products. For most men, we’d recommend trying other pheromones first, but it’s worth noting that some seasoned pheromone reviewers have found copulins to be effective for men in the right situation. For example, if you’ve had trouble getting “friend-zoned” or if you’re looking to attract more experienced women, copulins could prove effective for you.
The bottom line is, you should research all pheromones and learn about their effects and how they might be able to work for you, and be comfortable with the fact that pheromones are really not gender specific in their usefulness.
