6 Tips For Using Pheromones

Happy Friday, Love Scent fans!

This week, we’re going to cover some tips for using pheromones properly!

Let’s dive right in, shall we?

1. Know Your Application Points

An important part of using pheromones correctly is applying them correctly. Making sure you put them in the right places can make a big difference in their effectiveness.

We generally advise people to apply pheromones to their pulse points, which include:

  • Wrists
  • Throat
  • Behind the ears
  • Elbows
  • Behind knees

Pulse points are essentially places where the veins run close to the skin, which makes that spot on your body a natural diffuser that puts the pheromones out into the air. Putting pheromones elsewhere will make it harder for the pheromones to get out into the air and affect other people.

Now, if you’re wearing pheromones in an intimate setting with a partner, you can try other application spots, such as the chest or thighs. Wearing them here won’t attract many people when you’re out at a club or bar because they won’t diffuse into the air as well, but if you’re already physically very close with someone, you don’t have to limit yourself to your pulse points.

One way to get broad coverage: put a drop or two of pheromone between your wrists, gently rub your wrists together, and then dab your still-damp wrists against your throat.

2. Remember: Less Is More

One of our most common tips for using pheromones: remember not to overdo it, especially with sex pheromones! Pheromone overdosing can quickly lead to an unpleasant experience because it can intimidate or agitate those around you. This will either chase away potential partners or make people around you start arguments–or both. Not exactly a recipe for a fun time, right?

Remember, some pheromones are more prone to overdosing than others. Social pheromones like Liquid Trust or the Love Scent Pheromone Oils contain mood-elevating, anxiety-reducing formulas that are difficult to overdose on. (We still recommend starting with a small amount so you don’t waste any of the product, as using more than you need won’t necessarily increase the effectiveness.) But strong sex pheromones like Alpha-7 or pure AndrosteNONE should be using sparingly. Most people only need a drop at a time, especially younger people who are already naturally producing high levels of sex pheromones.

If you’re a younger person, you might want to consider a more balanced formula to begin with rather than a bottle of pure sex pheromones. Many people who get in touch with us want a specifically sexual product and don’t think they’re interested in a social/sexual pheromone mix, but most people actually have more luck with balanced formulas–even in their sex lives. Chikara, New Pheromone Additive for Men, and New Pheromone Additive for Women are good examples of more balanced formulas that contain a mix of both social and sexual pheromones.

If you’re ever not sure how much of a particular pheromone to use, start with 1 drop (or 1 spray)–even if it’s a milder formula. Check to see how that affects those around you, and if you’re not seeing results, add another drop. If one drop of a strong formula gets you bad results, you should consider switching to a less-intense formula with a lower concentration of sex pheromones.

3. Remember The Cover Fragrance

Another one of our most common tips for using pheromones: make sure to use a cover fragrance! There are very few exceptions to this general rule, as most pheromones naturally have a musky smell similar to body odor. This is true even of most “unscented” pheromones, as “unscented” means that it does not have a cover fragrance added–not that it doesn’t smell like anything at all!

Many of our products already come with a cover scent added, and in some cases people like the cover scent as much as they like the effects of the pheromones. If you purchase one of these, you don’t need to worry about pairing the pheromones with an additional perfume or cologne. It’s ready to wear right out of the bottle.

If you purchase an unscented pheromone, you’ll almost certainly need to pair it with a cover fragrance–especially if it’s a strong sex pheromone. You can use your favorite perfume or cologne, a scented body spray, a blend of essential oils, or anything else that covers the scent of the pheromones. Some people even use baking extracts like vanilla or almond extract. The choice is yours! One of the benefits of an unscented pheromone is that you can pair it with whatever scent you’re in the mood for.

4. Maintain Personal Hygiene

This is one of those tips for using pheromones that is also a general good tip for everyday life: make sure to keep clean and take care of your skin! Specifically with regard to pheromones and their effectiveness, this is important for a few reasons:

  • Clean, properly moisturized skin diffuses fragrances and pheromones better
  • Washing off your natural and added pheromones prevents buildup, which prevents overdosing
  • A clean and well-groomed person is more likely to attract attention from others

Now, you don’t need to scrub yourself raw every day to maintain hygiene. Just use a gentle soap and moisturizer to keep your skin clean and healthy. All-natural cleansers and moisturizers work well, and unscented soaps leave your skin a blank slate for whichever fragrances you’d like to add later.

If you regularly use pheromones, make sure to wash the skin wherever you apply them. This is especially important for preventing buildup and overdosing.

5. Know The Right Product For The Occasion

As many of you probably know, different pheromones have different effects, and not all pheromones are good for every occasion. Sex pheromones, for example, are best kept to your private life, while more social pheromones can be used in more circumstances. That brings us to one of our most important tips for using pheromones: make sure to use the right pheromone for the occasion! Using the right pheromone can make the difference between a successful experience and a disastrous one.

Part of knowing the right pheromone for the occasion is knowing how a particular pheromone works with your body chemistry. Most men, for example, could wear Chikara just about anywhere–to work, around friends and family, on a date, and so on. But some men, particularly men who already produce a high level of natural sex pheromones, might find that even a balanced formula like Chikara is too much. Likewise, some women may find that Mojo Pro for Women is the perfect everyday formula, but women with a different pheromone profile might get inappropriate attention when wearing it to work or on business trips. Experiment with a pheromone and use your best judgement when deciding when and where to use it!

6. Remember: Pheromones Are Tools

Of all our tips for using pheromones, this is one that you should take the most to heart: pheromones are tools, not magic potions. They can give you an incredible edge in many areas of your life, but they cannot do all the work for you. Your personality, body language, social skills, and many other factors will also play into how other people perceive you and whether they want to approach you.

This does not mean, of course, that pheromones are useless. Like we said, they can give you an edge and enhance your natural qualities. You should just be prepared to help the pheromones work their best, both by following the other tips on this list and working on your other personal skills. Think of pheromones as one factor out of many in your relationships, and remember to pay attention to the other factors as well. This will help you be more successful and give you realistic expectations for what pheromones can do for you.

There you have it, Love Scent fans! Make sure to keep these tips in mind whenever you use pheromones. We wish you success in your pheromone adventures!
